The New York Jets, who are one of two New York NFL teams that actually play their home games in New Jersey, were known as the Titans for three years before their name changed to the Jets in 1963. Joe Namath, was the first ever professional quarter back to pass for over 4,000 yards in 1967. Joe Namath also led the Jets to a victory in Super Bowl three. The team returned to the post-season often during the 1980s and then in 1998 won its first AFC East crown. |
