The Baltimore Ravens, who were created as an expansion team in 1999, were once part of the Cleveland Browns organization. When the Cleveland Browns attempted a move to Baltimore in 1996 due to stadium and financial reasons, the NFL decided the Browns history would remain in Cleveland and a new expansion team would be created for Baltimore.
